After reading this week’s prompt post on BLOGCHATTER, I felt happy; all credits to the Blogger Reema D’Souza for writing such an awesome post and giving me the reason to write this post, which I was thinking to write for quite some time. Last few days were full of surprises for me; I turned 29 on 12th Jan. and this time my birthday was full of love and pleasant surprises by my loved ones. My mom, dad and sister gave us a surprise visit on the day before my birthday and celebrated my b’day with three of us (me, hubby and our daughter). The next surprise was from dear hubby, who gifted me a pearl & diamond pendant. This time neither I had planned anything for my b’day nor was I excited for it, as I was not well but these surprises took away all the pains from me. The celebration started the day before and continued the day after my birthday. Such is life! It always gives you unexpected surprises that leave you awe-struck and wanting it for more. I wanted to write about my 29th birthday celebration but then I thought it would be great if I think and write about things that I do to be happy or jot down things that make me feel happy. It is always good to talk and think about good things and spread happiness around. I am 29 now, and the thing that I learned about happiness is that it’s your choice to be happy and no one is responsible to make you feel happy. When I say ‘no one’ it means ‘NO ONE’; only you are responsible for your happiness. I wrote this post sometime back and talked about how letting go is very important for one’s own health and happiness.
In this post, I am sharing some of the tips, which I follow to be high and happy.
Spending time with loved ones
Spending time with your loved and closed ones is the best medicine for your heart; it instantly lifts you up and makes you feel great. During weekends, when hubby is home, we both (me and baby) look happier as we all get to spend more time together – we go out, we eat a lot or sometimes just do nothing and relax lying on the bed (except our baby, she just cannot sit at one place).
The best way to shut your mind off the matter, which is hurting you is to immerse yourself in a good book or go to your favourite site or scroll through the blog, which you religiously follow. If you don’t feel like going online, just grab a book and lie down on your favourite couch. Books indeed are our best friends.
There are different reasons why a person blogs. I started blogging in an urge to share about my motherhood experiences with the other mums. This is the first post that I wrote. And when I got an overwhelming response from the readers, then I thought of taking this as a full-time career option. I feel good when I write. And when someone appreciates my work, it makes me feel great. Blogging is helping me to grow in every angle of my life. So if you have that pent-up feelings in your heart, just write it down and see the difference.
Scrolling through old photos
Sometimes when I don’t feel sleepy and feel like lying on the bed, doing nothing, I take my phone or laptop and start scrolling through old photos. It takes me to the past, which is captured and preserved as memories. Thinking about good things happened in the past makes you feel nostalgic but it definitely brings a smile on your face. Isn’t it?
Watching videos of my baby
This is something which is an instant mood lifter for me. I have hundreds of videos saved since my daughter’s birth. Whenever I watch these videos, I smile and cry at the same time. You can opt for a comedy show or a movie!
A visit to the salon
The best way to feel good and happy about yourself is to take care of your looks. On seeing yourself in the mirror, how you feel, what do you see? That answers everything. If you see a charming personality then it is great and if not then, it is time to visit the nearby salon.
I won’t tell myself an impulsive buyer but yes, when I buy something, I feel super happy. Read this interesting post, which I wrote – Why we women love to go shopping? Don’t forget to share your views there.
Before marriage, I used to be a foodie. Thanks to my mom and dad, for developing my interest in food. But now, I eat to survive but still I look chubby. It is only during weekends that we go out to explore new restaurants and eating joints. But today also the smell of good food brings water in my mouth.
A cup of tea/coffee
I am not addicted to caffeine but I have fixed schedule for taking tea/coffee – one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. I cannot start my day without a hot cup of strong tea. I need it to start my day with bliss. And in the evening when my baby is sleeping and I am writing or working on something, I need another cup to make my grey cells work faster. For me, it works like a magic potion.
This is the best and the most needed tip when you are mentally and physically tired. All you need to do is keep calm and go to slumber.
I can add more to the above list but I tried to make this list short, for I want to share the top ten tips with you. Now you tell me how you make yourself happy? I am awaiting your response in the comment section below. 🙂
Have a great day!
